The performance of seams contributes to the quality of apparel products. It has been noted that the achievement of quality seams in garments and, for that, matter apparel products depends on several factors, which in turn, influence the properties of the seam. The factors and the properties interact with the processes garments go through during use (example, laundry) to affect the overall performance of the seams in the garment. Current published evidence in the area of Clothing and Textiles provide limited work that focuses on the performance of seams in sewn apparel products. It is in line with this that this work has investigated the performance of seams in African prints by varying stitch density, sewing thread brands and washing cycles. The outcome which is provided in this book should therefore help producers of garments and seamstress who use Ghanaian Real Wax cotton prints to know the appropriate thread type on the market to choose and stitch densities that would help achieve quality seams to meet consumers’ desires in terms of seams. Secondly, there is limited documented research on the performance of seams in garments made from the Ghanaian Real Wax printed cotton fabrics
This book emphasizes on testing of products to uncover defects, and reporting to management who makes the decision to allow or deny the release of the batch. Both the in process and finished product quality control tests helps to ensure the quality of the product. The entire in process and finished product quality control tests involves stringent quality control tests to make sure that the products are totally flawless before they reach the market.
The work aims to develop an understanding of how decisions taken during the commercialisation and market launch of new high-tech products can affect their market success. By drawing into diffusion of innovation theories, innovation management and marketing research, the work presents the cases of 16 consumer innovations and 10 industrial new products and discusses the reasons underlying superior customer acceptance. The emerging theory developed in this work illustrates the key role played by the early adopters of the innovation for their market success, as well as the impact that market interconnectedness has on diffusion processes. Implications for researchers and managers are discussed at length in the work.
The present investigation has been carried out with the objectives the utilization of sand smelt fish(bassaria) (Atherina hepsetus) which has found in Qarun,s Lake- Fayuom- Egypt by high numbers, small size, low price, unaccepted from consumers and high edible part(71%) for produce fish products (burgers and fingers) high safely, having a good quality and better acceptability with lowering the coast. The substitution material (soybean flour (SF) and minced boiled potatoes (MBP))was used by different levels in this investigation to improved the sensory evaluation of produced fish products. Sensory evaluation was carried out for fried some fish burgers and fingers by different concentration from substitution materials to select the best treatments. Frozen storage at -18 ±1°C for 3 months was carried out on raw selected fish products to study the effect of frozen storage and substitution materials on the quality of these products during storage. It could be recommended that sand smelt fish can be utilization for production of burgers and fingers in a large scale with the addition of (SF)(20%)and(MBP)(15%)to improve quality and to decrease the production coast of final product.
The government has placed Private Finance Initiative at the heart of its strategy to reform public services in the UK. The main function of this reform is to provide quality public facilities to their users. This has seen PFI emerge as one of the key forms of Public Private Partnership delivery not just within the UK construction industry, but increasingly so on a global scale. Despite ‘value for money' being one of the core principles of PFI, questions have remained with regards to the quality of the finished projects delivered via this route particularly where design is concerned. This book investigates the role of quality of design within PFI, examining its importance and whether PFI is delivering facilities to a high standard of design quality.
The present study was conducted to find out the current situation and perceptions of library professionals about marketing of library and information services and products in university libraries of province of Punjab and Capital of Pakistan--Islamabad. The study focused on the attitude of professional staff working in the libraries towards different aspects of marketing especially the “4Ps” i.e. Product, Price, Place and Promotion. The results revealed that most of the university libraries are not implementing marketing techniques. However, few libraries are using some promotional techniques. Moreover, most of the respondents suggested that marketing should be applied in libraries in its true sense. Similarly, the findings showed that the Libraries should also design and maintain quality services and products according to users’ needs and new channels for the delivery of services and products should also be introduced.

Global financial crisis also struck Toyota and resulted in the first loss in fifty years of this company. There is no company without a problem. How fast the problem is solved is what will give a company competitive edge. Toyota is trying to keep up with the customer expectations and for this it is working very hard for quality products. Also to eliminate future problems with Toyota products, the company needs to include every tiny detail of instruction about the usage of the car in the manual given to the customer. Toyota?s quality management is more closely link to the continuous improvement school of thought than the deterministic school of thought. The purpose of this research is to analyze the quality efforts made by Toyota and suggest appropriate strategic options to improve their problems.
With larger competition from the universal economy, manufacturers face the challenge of delivering new customized products more rapidly than before to meet customer needs. Several technologies cooperatively known as Rapid Manufacturing (RM) have been developed to shorten the design and production cycle. The concept of Design for Environment (DFE) has harmonized design concerns with environmental issues. This research focuses on the Design for Recycling (DFR) or Design for Environment (DFE) Methodology for Rapid Manufacturing. This methodology is applied at the design stage of producing product to increase percentage of recyclability and decrease environment impact. The idea is also can be applied to products which have been reached to End-of-Life cycle and changing design of those products to making their recycling more easily than they are.

Hundru Fall is situated around 40 km far from Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand and one of the famous tourist place of Jharkhand. Here the Subarnarekha river falls from a height of 320 feet and then enters into the Singhbhum District. The objective of this study was to evaluate water quality of the Hundru Fall of the Subarnarekha River and assess its feasibility for multi-purpose usage like, drinking, domestic, recreational activities, irrigation and fisheries. For assessment of water quality of Hundru Fall, samples were collected from 4 different sampling sites of Hundru fall during the month of January to June. Total 27 water quality parameters were analyzed The reported data were in compliance with WHO guidelines, Indian Standards and CPCB criteria except TSS, turbidity, iron, BOD and total coliform. It is concluded that the water of Hundru Fall is fit for irrigation and fisheries purposes as well as drinking & domestic usage after filtration and disinfection treatment but the water quality of Hundru fall is not suitable for recreational uses like bathing and swimming due to presence of pathogens. This is alarming result for tourist coming for picnic and take bath in Hundru fall.
The concept of quality management originated in Japan and later moved into the USA and other countries. The theory of quality management has been growing rapidly and important for all service sectors. Libraries adopt management techniques to give their best in the form of services and products to its users. But, it is very difficult to give best products and services. There is no universally acceptable tools and techniques to measure and improve the quality of products and services in libraries. TQM is one of such technique used for the improvement and maintenance of quality or performance of the libraries. Therefore, it is necessary for library and information professionals to understand core concepts, methods and techniques used in TQM. The book is to examine the application of Total Quality Management in University Libraries of India and to measures the perception of users as they relate to quality of information products and services, and to determine how far the libraries has succeeded in delivering such services to its users. The study also highlights the brief theoretical framework about the concept of quality, statistical quality control and TQM application in LIS.
