Vitiligo is an age old problem. It is considered as a stigma even in our developed society. In this study homeopathic medicines showed promising results in the treatment of vitiligo cases. Among 200 patients attended at Ramakrishna Mission Charitable Dispensary, Belur Math outpatient department, 190 patients showed encouraging responses. Medicines used were calc. carb., lycopodium, lachesis, mezerium, nat. mur., sepia, ars.s.fl., with dilutions – 200/1000. Pre- and post-treatment biopsy confirmed regeneration of pigments with disappearance of the white spots after treatment when histological examinations were done. As the treatment procedure was simple, patient compliance was good. The outcome of this study creates hope for eradication of vitiligo as a whole in the community.
Vitiligo is the most prevalent pigmentary disorder which occurs worldwide, with an incidence rate between 0.1-4%. It commonly begins in childhood or young adulthood, with peak onset of 10 to 30 years. Vitiligo is a multifactorial disorder, related to both genetic and non-genetic factors. The etiology of vitiligo may differ among patients and is complex. It is anticipated that the discovery of biological pathways of vitiligo pathogenesis will provide novel therapeutic and prophylactic targets for future approaches to the treatment and prevention of vitiligo. The purposes of this study was assessing probable pathogenesis of vitiligo and evaluating the efficacy of supplemental zinc on the treatment of vitiligo. This specialty docterial thesis was crried out in the Dermatology Department related to JundiShapur University of Medical Sciences, Ahvaz, Iran. I hope that this work give dear readers invaluable and complete information about the vitiligo, zinc and probable role of zinc in treatment of vitiligo Dr. Nooshin Bagherani, Dermatologist April, 2012
Dental injuries are common in childhood especially in the peaks relating to the first instance of toddler’s stage infant mobility, and later to increasing adventurous games and activities.Endodontic management of pulpless permanent tooth with a wide-open blunderbuss apex has long presented a challenge to dentistry. Although highly successful, apexification should be the treatment of last resort in a tooth with an incompletely formed root. Attention should be focused on the maintenance of vitality in these teeth so that as much root length and dentin formation as possible can occur in the root. Indirect pulp therapy, vital pulp capping and pulpotomy techniques have proved successful, aided by the tremendous blood supply present with the open apex. These procedures should be the treatment of choice if there is a possibility of success with any of them. When the tooth with an incompletely formed apex becomes pulpless or periapical disease has developed, apexification is the preferred treatment.
Skin is one of most sensitive organ which plays an important role in health, disease as well as beauty. Even a small lesion on superficial skin can cause a lot of anxiety and depression in several people. Vitiligo is one of the most common skin disorder in many parts of the world and has become a problem for the human being. The patient suffering from vitiligo which are hated and despised in the hands of the society. Although except cosmetics defect, vitiligo is an absolutely harmless disease. But patients suffering from vitiligo one generally not respected in society and even in family which ultimately lead to a lot of psychological problems. Vitiligo means loss of pigment with white patches of varied sizes often symmetrically distributed. The skin bordering the affected sites is usually hyper-pigmented and hair in affected area is usually but not always white. In modern medicine, several drugs and modern methods, techniques are searching today but the treatment is not satisfactory in total eradication of the disease but there are various drugs described in the Ayurvedic (Indian System of Medicine) texts claimed as useful in the treatment of vitiligo.
Writing articles started after having solved the mysterious fever, whom some were calling viral fever, others Malaria. This thing encouraged me to write other articles which got published under the heading of 'Self-Help' in an English daily; The Tribune published from Chandigarh on every Saturday. These articles were edited by the concerned editor in such a way that public started taking interest in them. This continued for nearly 6 months. But some jealous people thought that I am doing all this for boosting my private practice, which was not so. By and by I started treating some of the puzzling diseases like the Recurrent Bronchial Diseases. Later on ailments like HIV/AIDS were highlighted in the same national daily and I started taking extraordinary interest in it. Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi, an apex body of Allopathic Research, under the instructions of World Health Organization and World Bank started taking cognizance of my work done on HIV/AIDS. Meanwhile I started getting all kinds of HIV/AIDS patients for their homoeopathic treatment. Like this, the work got bulky to take the shape of a book to be published in future.

vitiligo is a hereditary disease.Genetic study is important for the inheritance of the disease. Vitiligo is a cosmetic disfigurement,so people try to hide it.In my study how the disease is inherited from one generation to the next generation and chromosomal pattern of vitiligo is elaborated with photographs. Now a days genetic studies are very important. This book is at very basic level along with methods of karyotype are given .
By a stable dynamical system, we broadly mean the one whose overall behavior does not substantially change when its initial conditions or inputs undergo small disturbances. Stability is the fundamental requirement of any practically useful system. The behavior of an unstable system cannot be controlled and hence such a system is simply useless for practical purpose. The aim of this book is to present a concise study of the stability theories of autonomous (time-invariant) and non-autonomous (time-varying) systems. Various related notions and terminologies are meticulously explained. A major focus of the book is on the celebrated Liapunov’s direct method which is so far the best mathematical technique for determining the stability nature of a dynamical system. The book introduces and lucidly discusses about the theory of stability of non-autonomous systems which is a complicated subject, having various pitfalls and peculiarities. All concepts in the book are accompanied with illustrative mathematical examples, selected from standard books and journals.
Hippocrates (about 460-377 B.C.) outstanding physician of the ancient world explained the origin of epidemics by the action of “miasmas” noxious emanations which were allegedly capable of causing a number of diseases. In 1831, Dr Hahnemann states in his article on cholera that diseases are composed of probably millions of (these) miasmatic animated beings”. Susceptibility is an inherent capacity in all living things to react to stimuli in the environment and represents a fundamental quality that distinguishes the living from the non-living. Although the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment has been unquestionably proved, there is no systematic study to show the outcome of treatment in this perspective. Hence an attempt is made to conduct a clinical study in Idaikattur Village, sivagangai district, Tamilnadu. With this study, the prevalence of infectious environmental illnesses and effectiveness of their treatment with miasmatic approach was analysed. Results are encouraging and finally highlights the good performance of Homeopathic medicines, since it is based on standard principles on the concept of similimum.
The work presented in this book gives a glimpse into the various stages involved in the development of a Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) with on-chip JFET. The development of the SDD was carried out in phased manner, with the proto-type development being carried out at the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B) followed by development of commercial grade SDDs at Bharat Electronics Ltd., Bangalore (BEL). Simulations in TCAD (device and process) were employed to arrive at optimized parameter values for the SDD with on-chip JFET. Various different kinds of SDDs and JFETs were designed to study the effect of a variation in design parameters on the performance parameters. The fabrication process for proto-type SDD was formulated for achieving a high breakdown voltage (>100V) coupled with a low leakage current achievable at IIT-B. Further, designs of the SDD with on-chip JFET were generated for fabrication at BEL. Fabrication of both SDD and JFET over high resistivity Silicon posed a significant technological challenge mitigated by process optimization in TCAD.
The results show that vitiligo are quite prevalent and constitute a major psychological health problem in Bangladesh. The occurrence of diabetes mellitus, liver function test, renal function test, hypertension related to lipid profile and others biochemical test like uric acid, hemoglobin and specially performed T3, T4, TSH for thyroid diseases were more frequent among the patients. Particularly thyroid diseases and insulin dependent diabetes mellitus had a great interrelation with vitiligo. Significant change in serum total protein among the patients of age group below 10 and 11-20 years was observed. No major changes were observed for ALT, AST, ALP, TC, HDL, TG and LDL. Disease incidence was the highest 44% among 11-20 years age group. In the case of sex incidence the female patients were 56%; on the other hand male recorded 44%. The students were the highest percentage (48%) suffering with vitiligo. The lesion of the vitiligo patients was seen 85% on the exposed parts of the body. Family history was the most important and 32% patients told that they had prior family history. Eighty percent patients expressed that most of the persons avoid them for marital relationship.
This book reformulates the sociological subdiscipline known as the sociology of knowledge. Knowledge is presented as more than ideology, including as well false consciousness, propaganda, science and art.
