With more than $3.7 billion in assets and annual revenue of $800 million, the Nature Conservancy has generated staggering growth that would be the envy of any business. Incorporated in 1951 by a small circle of concerned ecologists, the Conservancy has grown financially into the world's largest environmental organization. It has one million members–up from 500,000 in 1990–and 3,500 employees operating in 50 states and 28 countries across the world. Nature's Keepers offers readers an inspirational leadership tale and management chronicle, as it goes behind the scenes and details the inner workings of the Nature Conservancy. Highlighting the efforts of nine extraordinary leaders, Nature's Keepers examines the organization's culture and management, strategy and decisions, and courageous and ingenious individuals who have dedicated their lives to conservation. Author Bill Birchard reveals how the Conservancy's sometimes controversial business practices–entrepreneurial approaches to preserving ecosystems while meeting human needs–have earned the praise of management gurus such as Peter Drucker. The Conservancy's way of operating, though not free of failings, is both widely emulated in the nonprofit community and greatly respected by business scholars and CEOs nationwide.

“A New Creation in Christ” examines the basic theological and biblical doctrines of creation, humanity, sin and salvation. The definitive text for this book is Paul''s statement in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.” Paul''s statement incorporates two elements of salvation. “If any one is in Christ” is suggestive of the first element, which is the subjective nature of salvation. This involves the believer''s conversion through repentance and faith. The second element is the objective nature of salvation, in the next part of the statement “he is a new creation”. This is accomplished through the redemptive work of God in Christ. The book provides an overview of various doctrines and examines the practical implications thereof. It will be useful to students, pastors, lecturers who want to gain a deeper understanding of the redemptive role that Christ''s work accomplishes for humanity. A cyclic model for the practical outworking of a new creation theology has been advocated in a threefold consideration of personhood, community and discipleship.
It is a wonder why Gordon Matta-Clark is not better known. Born into the centre of the contemporary New York art world in 1942, Matta-Clark went on to study architecture at Cornell University before settling in the SoHo area of New York and becoming an artist. The nature of Matta-Clarks work was temporary, he worked in buildings scheduled for demolition. He would cut holes in these buildings, through the use of chainsaws and other power tools, opening them up to light and air and drawing attention to the speed of urban renewal taking place in America in the 1960''s and 1970''s. This book looks at the artists life and experiencesand the way in which these would ultimately influence his unique style of work. It is by looking at what influenced Matta-Clark, that enables us to understandwhy he held such a unique place in the 1970''s New York art world, and why he is such an important figure in both art and architectural history. Matta-Clark belongs to no movement of art. Instead, he managed to blur the boundaries between art, architecture and sculpture.
From 1961, when Tanganyika by then now Tanzania got its Independence from British colonization, its foreign policy has been changing from time to time depending on various factors, one is the charisma of the president in power as when the nation was led by the late Mwalimu Nyerere the country was relatively active in its foreign policy especially on the decolonization of the African Continent. This made even the nature of challenges to be of more political in nature than economic due to the leverages enjoyed from the cold war environment. But, from 1990's when muilt- partism came into existence, the nature of of challenges had to shift from political to economy as the leverages which were enjoyed by the country from the cold war had seized, the nature of economic relations shifted from aid to international trade.
